Learning outcomes Provide students with the fundamental knowledge of the area of Business Finance, with an emphasis on financial management.
This course seeks to develop skills that enable students to:
i) Distinguish the functions and objectives of financial management and financial analysis;
ii) Understand the notion of time value of money;
iii) Carry out financial calculation operations: capitalization and updating operations
iv) Know the object and the methods of financial analysis;
v) Calculate and analyze financial ratios;
vi) Analyze the situations related to the availability in transit and the means of payment used by customers;
vii) Identify and evaluate economic and financial problems;
viii) Implement corrective financial management measures that enhance the company's structural balance and profitability in the short, medium and long term.
ix) Identify procedures to control collections; Recover bad credit: debt claim, legal and extrajudicial actions, criminal liability

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria
For the granting of frequency it is required:
• Minimum mark of 6 values (considering all moments of evaluation);
• Attendance at 85%. Students who, on the whole of the two assessment tests, obtain an average of less than 6 values and who simultaneously have an attendance of less than 50%, shall be assigned the words "Not Admitted".
• Assiduity control is done personnally by signing the attendance sheet in each class;
Students are exempted from attendance at special schemes (student-workers).
