Learning outcomes |
Develop skills and competences in terms of quality control in the Textile and Apparel Industry. Acquisition of knowledge in organization, standardization and quality systems.
Identify the principles of quality management and the main production organization systems.
Use appropriate organizational, management and control methodologies according to normative principles and requirements.
Recognize the main requirements of ISO 9000 standards.
Identify and evaluate the main physical, chemical and mechanical properties of fibers, yarns, fabrics and knits. Know and describe the main test methods used in the characterization and quality control of textile materials in the various stages of production.
Recognize the use of national and international standards in tests performed on raw materials and textile products. Be able to interpret and prepare quality technical specifications of textile products according to the application and market requirements.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The course consists of lectures and practical-laboratory classes. In lectures, the teacher explains the contents of the course and gives examples for discussion. In the practical-laboratory classes, the student must apply the knowledge acquired in the theoretical classes. The practical-laboratory classes will take place in the physical and chemical testing laboratories, where the student will be able to work with different equipment and carry out various experimental tasks in the area of quality control.
At the end of each piece of experimental work, students must prepare a written report in which they must apply the knowledge acquired and scientifically discuss the results obtained.
The assessment of the UC comprises a theoretical component (written test) and a practical component (average of the practical laboratory work) in each of the modules (Textiles and Clothing and Clothing) - MT and MCV
The admission criterion for the exam is 6 points and the passing criterion is 9.5
