Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The course consists of theoretical sessions, hands-on practical sessions on the microscopes used in the microscopy lab, and theoretical-practical image analysis sessions. The theoretical sessions provide the theoretical basis for fluorescence microscopy techniques and the basic concepts of image acquisition and analysis in biomedical research. The hands-on practical sessions on microscopes and the theoretical-practical sessions on image analysis enable the application of the concepts presented in the theoretical sessions and the use of the available tools to build appropriate workflows for a given research objective. Assessment involves the individual application of knowledge in contexts that students will be able to transfer to their own research projects.
