Learning outcomes |
The main objective of the curricular unit (CU) is to develop knowledge about foreign policy as a field of study, guiding it towards an analysis focused on contemporary Portuguese foreign policy. Combining a historical and theoretical contextualization, with an approach to the strategic axes of Portuguese foreign policy, the course evaluates in a more in-depth and critical way some of Portugal's main multilateral and bilateral relationships. At the end of the semester, students should be able to:
1. Understand the historical evolution of Portuguese foreign policy.
2. Apply central concepts and theories about foreign policy.
3. Know the fundamental vectors of contemporary Portuguese foreign policy.
4. Critically evaluate the main Portuguese multilateral and bilateral relationships.
5. Reveal capacity for reflection, analysis, communication and debate.
