Learning outcomes The main objective of this curricular unit is to promote the articulation between the doctoral research projects and the research topics and projects of the research unit Labcom, thus boosting both the postgraduate training and the research activities in the area of communication sciences.
By the end of this curricular unit, students should be able to:
1 – Identify advanced research in the following areas:
– Communication and arts;
– Communication and science;
– Communication and journalism;
– Communication and politics;
– Communication and advertising;
– Communication and public relations;
2 – Discuss that advanced research both in a verbal and written way, namely through communications, articles and book chapters;
3 - Problematize the relationship between the various areas of research in communication sciences.
Syllabus 1. Recent advanced research in the following areas:
– Communication and arts;
– Communication and science;
– Communication and journalism;
– Communication and politics;
– Communication and advertising;
– Communication and public relations
2. Relationship between the various research areas.

NOTE. The teachers of the curricular unit and/or the modules will make the specification of each of the topics within the aforementioned areas.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The teaching-learning activity materializes in the participation of PhD students in the conferences to be given by teachers and / or researchers from the various areas and groups of LabCom. It is also planned to organize periodic conferences by national and foreign specialists, and to participate in the congresses and events of LabCom. These activities, which comprise the practice and an active intervention and learning by the students, promote the articulation between the doctoral projects and the lines and research projects of LabCom, the ability to identify advanced investigations in traditional domains of communication sciences, and the ability to discuss and problematize these investigations and the way they relate.
