Learning outcomes This course aims to conduct experiments in the areas of Electromagnetism and Modern Physics, with a view to consolidating the previously acquired physical concepts in various areas of Physics, especially in the course units of General Physics II and Introduction to Modern Physics. It is also intended the development of skills related to the written and oral presentation of scientific results.
Syllabus Theoretical-practical classes:
(1) Explanation and demonstration of some experiments of Electricity and Magnetism, Optics and Modern Physics
Laboratory practical classes:
(1) Introduction to instrumentation used in experiments on electricity and magnetism, (2) Electrical charge, (3) Ohm's law, (4) Capacity and dielectric constants (5) Thompson's tube, (6) RC circuit, (7) Magnetic field, (8) Geometrical optics: reflection and refraction, (9) Planck's constant photoelectric effect, (10) Blackbody: Stefan-Boltzmann law and spectral distribution of radiation, (11) Atomic levels and gas emission spectra.
