Learning outcomes |
This Curricular Unit aims to promote a comprehensive and integrative perspective of psychological assessment (PA), with the acquisition of knowledge and skills, namely related to the initial interview and assessment in the cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioural domains. At the end, the student should be able to:
1. Describe the psychological assessment process as an integrative and decision-making process; 2. Demonstrate appropriate skills in conducting an initial interview; 3. Select, administer and score PA instruments in the cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioural domains and interpret the results; 4. Critically analyse, integrate and apply contextualised information in action; 5. Reflect on the ethical and deontological implications and responsibilities in the field of PA; 6. Proficiently research and use scientific information related to PA; 7. Communicate clearly and appropriately with different audiences.

Syllabus |
1. The process of psychological assessment (PA): aims, phases, general methodological and deontological issues.
2. The first interview of PA: characterization, stages, interviewer skills and techniques.
3. Intelligence assessment: characterization, administration, scoring and interpretation of some intelligence assessment instruments;
4. Socio-emotional and behavioural assessment: characterization, administration, scoring and interpretation of some personality assessment instruments.
