Learning outcomes |
The objective of this CU is that students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of physical concepts concerning astronomy and astrophysics. A student completing this CU should be able to identify, interpret and analyze elementary physical situations found in astrophysics. In addition, the student will learn skills associated with the use of astronomical instruments.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
This one-semester course consists of 60 hours of contact with the teaching team, 100 hours of autonomous work and 8 hours for evaluation (total: 168 hours).The course is structured with practical classes (TP): exposition of the subjects of the course, presentation of small practical examples and computational simulations, application of theoretical concepts to solve practical problems, and participation in demonstration classes where we make use of scientific instruments. Evaluation is performed in two phases: - Continuous evaluation: 1 theoretical and practical tests throughout the semester - Final exam (with theoretical and practical part) for admitted students. Assessment methods and criteria - 1 written exam will form 60% of the assessment grade + homeworks (remaining 40% of the assessment grade) - The duty of assiduity will be checked and will constitute a necessary condition to access the final exam if the student is present in, at least, 75% of the classes.
