Learning outcomes The Architectural Rehabilitation of Heritage unit aims to provide specific theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of building rehabilitation and reuse. The following skills will be developed: a) Understanding the concepts of heritage and heritage intervention; b) Understanding the concepts of architectural and urban rehabilitation; c) Understanding the evolution of these concepts, particularly by comparing various international agreements and charters; d) Developing a critical attitude towards heritage intervention, particularly through the prioritization of various intervention criteria and strategies; e) Mastery of knowledge of the regulatory framework, such as the methods and legal standards for inventorying and classifying architectural heritage; f) Integrated knowledge of methodologies, procedures, and techniques for evaluating buildings, complexes, places, and sites within the scope of urban planning.
Syllabus 1) Heritage concepts.
2) Concepts of architectural heritage rehabilitation.
3) Methodologies for architectural heritage rehabilitation: international agreements and charters.
4) Intervention principles and strategies: criteria and definitions; hierarchy.
5) Regulatory framework: methods and legal standards for inventory and classification.
6) Methodologies, procedures, and techniques for evaluating and intervening in buildings, complexes, places, and sites.
7) Architectural and construction rehabilitation: integrated vision and compatibility.
8) Intervention strategies based on case studies.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The course's classes are organized into three main areas: presentation and discussion of content; completion and monitoring of assignments; and presentation and discussion thereof.
Assessment will be weighted as follows:
a) 30% - Knowledge assessment test (individual);
b) 60% - Theoretical-critical work (in teams), focusing on a topic included in the course syllabus. The topic, structure, specific bibliography, and development are mandatory and monitored by the instructor;
d) 10% - Participation, 10%.

In accordance with the course's characteristics, the exam will have a theoretical and a practical component. Assessment will be weighted as follows:
a) 70% - Knowledge assessment test;
b) 30% - Theoretical-critical work, focusing on a topic included in the course syllabus.
