Katia Peterson, da George Washington School of Public Health, profere, dia 8 de maio (segunda-feira), pelas 14h00, a Aula-Aberta “Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in healthcare: a case study from Afghanistan”.
A ter lugar no Anfiteatro 7.20 da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), a Aula-Aberta, promovida no âmbito da Unidade Curricular “Organizações Internacionais” do 3.º Ano do 1.º Ciclo/Licenciatura em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais da UBI, tem como objetivo a apresentação, por parte de Katia Peterson, do estudo de caso de como a USAID/Afghanistan utilizou o modelo das Parcerias Público Privadas (PPP) para melhorar e aumentar o acesso a serviços de saúde prioritários. A oradora descreverá os principais participantes e como cada um se envolveu com o ecossistema de saúde, juntamente com os sucessos e desafios que enfrentaram, resultantes de uma avaliação do modelo de PPP.
Katia Peterson’s Bio:
CEO and founder of In Situ Research (Washington DC), has fifteen years of experience designing and executing mixed method research studies of key global health development programs in low-to-middle income countries. Katia lends her expertise to the design and execution of programmatic evaluations for bilateral donors, specifically projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Since 2020 she has served as an Evaluation Lead for USAID/Afghanistan’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity (AMELA). The Activity is responsible for monitoring and evaluating USAID/Afghanistan’s $USD 800-million-dollar development portfolio. She is also passionate about increasing access to mental health services in low-income countries. Katia provides support to non-profit global mental health organizations to develop the capacity of in-country Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams to carry out routine program monitoring and assessments.
She received her PhD in Global Health from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and her Master’s in Public Health (Epidemiology) at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Katia Peterson is a faculty member at The George Washington School of Public Health where she teaches Social Behavior Change Communication in Low to Middle Income Countries, Health Communications & Social Marketing, and Marketing Research for Public Health.
