MGIMO’s Summer School involves three-week sessions in June and July, offering three English-language modules in international relations, Russian foreign policy, and Russian and International energy policy.
Each module includes 30 hours of major course instruction with a final written exam (4 ECTS credits); one elective course - 16 contact hours, no exam (1 ECTS credit), and one Russian language course - 30 contact hours (2 ECTS credits). Courses in English cover such issues as Change and continuity in Russian politics, Contemporary Russian energy policy, Russia in global affairs: focus in Eurasia, Russian foreign policy: modern challenges, and Russia in the world economy.
Russian language instruction offers courses for international students at different levels, depending on their proficiency in the Russian language.
Approximately 15-20 undergraduate and graduate students participate in the International Summer School, and are accommodated on campus in shared double rooms with amenities. International Summer School students are invited to participate in cultural and social events in Moscow and the surrounding area, and have fee based access to gymnasium, sports and swimming facilities.
