A call is open for the allocation of 1 (one) research fellowship for PhD students or masters enrolled in a non-academic degree course (BI), within the Research Project titled “ExoCloud: Cloud prototype for the sequencing and bioinformatics analysis of the human genome for the diagnostic of hereditary forms of diabetes mellitus” (ref.ª CENTRO-01-0145-FEDER-181249), co-financed through the Support System for Scientific and Technological Research (Proof of Concept Projects) , by the Portugal 2020 Program (PT 2020), in the framework of the Regional Operational Program of the Center (CENTRO 2020) and by the European Union through European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), taking place at the CICS-UBI - Health Sciences Research Center and at the Department of Informatics of the University of Beira Interior (http://www.ubi.pt/Entidade/CICS), (http://www.ubi.pt/Entidade/Departamento_de_Informatica).

Objectives
Design and implementation of the bioinformatics processing module (BP) of the ExoCloud platform.
Requirements for admission and hiring:
Hold a MSc degree in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences or Engineering or similar area and meet the conditions to be enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to the PhD degree or enrolled in a non-academic degree course.
Preferred requirements: Preference will be given to candidates who have cumulative experience in Biological and Computational Sciences, and good knowledge of bioinformatics, biostatistics, programming, database management, and basic molecular biology.
The proof of registration in the PhD/non degree course is required for the fellowship contractualization.
The BI awarded to masters who are enrolled in courses that do not confer an academic degree can only be awarded to those who do not exceed, with the execution of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, a cumulative period of two years in this type of research fellowship, followed or interpolated.
