The applications for the Portuguese as a Foreign Language Course are available online from the 2nd to the 5th of October. The course is offered at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2.
The application process requires the submission of the document containing the Language Proficiency Test result, that took place the 25th and 26th of September, and the enrollments will be available from the 13th to the 15th of October.
Academic Period – 13th of October to the 19th of December, 2025
Level A1 (20 places) – Monday and Wednesday – 6:00 pm –8:30 pm
Level A2 (40 places) – Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 pm –8:30 pm
Level B1 (20 places) – Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 pm –8:30 pm
Level B2 (20 places) – Monday and Wednesday – 6:00 pm –8:30 pm
Classrooms – Faculty of Arts and Letters (information will be available at the Main Entrance of Building 1, at the Letters Secretariat and will be published online www.ple.ubi.pt).

Placement notice (Application results) – until the 8th of October, 2025.
Attention: Enrollment in the course “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of a study plan, constitutes a preferential criterion for placement/sequence.
Registration– from the 13th to the 15th of October, 2025 (online)
ATTENTION: When you formalize your registration it is mandatory to pay the course fee in a single instalment (when applicable). Registration cancellations will not be accepted.

Course fee - UBI Community (Students/Researchers/Staff) – €50
Course fee - Community external to UBI – €100
Course fee exemption: students enrolled in the UC “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of their study plan. Attention: enrollment in this UC must be completed, in the Academic Services, by the 3rd of October, before the application submission deadline.
Lesson Period –13th of October to the 19th of December, 2025.
Language skills assessment: 1) written comprehension, 2) written expression, 3) oral comprehension, and 4) oral expression and interaction.
