Two Research Fellowship for Bachelor | SEGAL-UBI

Job description: Each research position will consist of a full time position for a period of 12 months (with the possibility to be renewed until September 2019 under revision of the performance) at SEGAL (Space & Earth Geodetic Analysis Laboratory), Department of Computer Sciences, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. The selected candidates will conduct research in the field of development of Web Services for management of databases and repositories of geodetic data and derived products. Candidates must hold a Bachelor (Licenciatura) in Computer Sciences or similar areas.

Admission conditions:
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor (Licenciatura) degree in Computer Sciences or similar areas.
- Proficiency in English.

Preferential Requisites:
- Strong knowledge of Information Systems and Internet Protocols.
- Relevant scientific publications.
- Ability to work in an organized and structured way.
- Good social and team working skills.
- Capacity to work independently, according to the instructions received.

Working place: SEGAL (Space & Earth Geodetic Analysis Laboratory), Department of Computer Sciences, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal, under the supervision of Prof. Rui Fernandes.

Duration of Research Fellowship: Each fellowship will last 12 months and is expected to start August/September 2017 or the earliest possible date thereafter. Each fellowship contract may be renewed until September 2019, subject to a positive annual evaluation. It is full time research fellowships and all the conditions established by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology will be applied (more information: http://www.fct.pt).

Value of Monthly Fee Grant: The fellowship amount will be based on the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology rules for fellowships. The minimum value will consist of a monthly maintenance stipend of 745 euros (tax free) for a research fellowship — BI (more information: http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en).
This value can be majored if the jury will consider that the selected candidate(s) has exceptional merit or if the candidate(s) will carry out a thesis project on a Master programme at the Department of Computer Sciences of the University of Beira Interior related with the EPOS activities.
